Saturday 15th January saw the official opening of the new Centre at Cyncoed Methodist Church, Cardiff incorporating the Wales Synod Office, the Cardiff Circuit Office and a new Office for the Cyncoed Church.
During a short act of Worship led by the Cardiff Circuit Superintendent, Rev. Peter Holwell, the Wales Synod Chair, Rev. Dr. Stephen Wigley expressed the Synod’s thanks to the people at Cyncoed for becoming hosts to the new Synod Office. Following this, the cutting of the opening ribbon was carried out by Clive Smith, the Property Steward at Cyncoed.
The design of the New Centre and oversight of the construction was by Richard Liddell, BArch (Wales) RIBA, of Liddell and Associates, Chepstow. The Main Contractor was R&M Williams of Pontyclun.

Included in the Centre is a large conference room which has the capability to remotely link with other Wales Synod and Connexional locations by the use of state-of-the-art videoconferencing equipment. This is especially important to reduce travel time and cost for the Synod where a journey from the Cardiff or Newport in the South-East to Holyhead or Bangor in the North-West by road or rail can take up to four hours.
